Thunder Basin is right in the thick of the 4A race at 3-1 after a hard-fought 10-7 win over Cheyenne Central on Friday in Gillette. Central got a first-quarter touchdown and that's all the offense the team would produce for the rest of the night. Thunder Basin didn't take the lead until the 4th quarter and Central could have tied the game as time expired but missed a field goal attempt.

Both defenses made timely plays and Thunder Basin ended up with 245 yards of offense and Central amassed 293. The Bolts prevail at home in a much more difficult game than expected and have cross-town rival Campbell County next on the agenda. Central is 0-4 on the year and will tangle with Cheyenne South on Friday,
