The Top 5 Game Shows Of The 1970’s

The 1970's was a quirky time and probably what they got away with back then, wouldn't fly today. But it's fun to take a look back to some of the game shows we watched back then.  Here are 5 game shows that were very popular in the 1970's. 1. The Price Is Right - This game show debuted way back in 1956 and was hosted by a man named Bill Cullen. When the network revamped the show in 1972, Bob Barker to over as the host and held that position for about 34 years. It was probably the most popular show in the 1970's. Many people "came on down" to win cool prizes too.
2. Wheel Of Fortune - Everyone who watched this show couldn't wait for Vanna White to turn the letter. This show was also created by former television talk show host Merv Griffin. The show was originally hosted in 1975 by Chuck Woolerly, but was best known for host Pat Sajak.
3. Jeopardy! - This show was created by Merv Griffin, former television talk show host and debuted on March 30, 1964. Art Fleming originally hosted the program, but is best known for host Alex Trebek.
4. Family Feud - Who could forget Richard Dawson kissing all of those women back in the day? Probably couldn't get a way with that today. Former N*Sync singer Joey Fatone now hosts the program.
5. The Hollywood Squares - This had a host of celebrities that sat in the 9 squares each week and hosted by Peter Marshall from 1966 to 1981. Popular "center square" celebrities included Paul Lynde and Charles Nelson Riley.
