Cheyenne and Laramie County law enforcement agencies have joined forces to raise awareness of school crosswalk safety, according to a release from Laramie County Sheriff Brian Kozak.
Laramie County School District 1 is working to prevent tragedies like Friday's fatal crash involving a McCormick Junior High School student from happening in the future.
The CPD says that ''even though the speed limit flashers in school zones have now been turned off, motorists still need to watch for kids in those zones.''
The Cheyenne Police Department wrote 91 tickets for speeding in school zones in October, according to spokesman Officer Dan Long.
