House Bill 125 in Wyoming House passes with strong 54-7 vote, heading to the Senate for further review.

But in a floor vote, the amendment was defeated on a 43-19 vote on the second reading.

Under current Wyoming law, motorists can be ticketed for seat-belt violations, but only if they are stopped for something else first.

Under current law, law enforcement can only write tickets for non-use of seatbelts if a car is stopped for another violation first.
