A yearslong project to bring a new data center to Cheyenne is nearing the finish line, Mayor Patrick Collins says.

Cheyenne Mayor Patrick Collins says the city is "making progress" in its efforts to bring a new data center to town.

The State Loan and Investment Board has approved a $5 million dollar grant to help bring a proposed $112 million dollar data center to Cheyenne. Governor Matt Mead says he is willing to provide another $5 million in state money to land the center. Doug Randall reports.  Farm Credit Services of America says customer owners in Wyoming are receiving dividend checks totaling $13.8 million this month.

State business officials say Cheyenne is one of two finalists for a proposed $112 million dollar data center. Business reporter Sharon Fain has the details.
