Members of the United States military who have been badly wounded in combat are receiving some extra help this holiday season from Taco John’s International. Spokeswoman Renee Middleton says the Mexican fast food chain is donating a portion of each Nachos Navidad purchase between now and December 29 to the Yellow Ribbon Fund.

This is the 18th year Taco John’s is offering Nachos Navidad during the holidays and donating a portion of the sales. Middleton says last year, Taco John’s donated $50,000 to the Yellow Ribbon Fund, which provided approximately 160 hotel room nights, 650 cab rides and 1,000 rental car days for the families of injured soldiers.

Taco John’s has also launched a campaign inviting people to send messages to injured troops. The words of thanks and encouragement may be posted online or submitted by texting TROOPS to 35880. The messages will be printed onto a large banner and presented to the recovering soldiers
