UPDATE: Apartment Project Fire Now Under Control
UPDATE 6:30 P.M.:CFR has responded to the 2000 block of Converse, where the fire has been brought under control. Crews are still working to extinguish remaining hotspots. Please avoid the area.
UPDATE: 5:27 p.m.: Cheyenne Police now say roads have reopened in the vicinity of a structure fire that was reported late Tuesday afternoon.
Original Post: Cheyenne Police are warning people to avoid East Carlson while firefighters battle a structure fire.
CPD posted the following on Facebook:
''Cheyenne Fire Rescue is currently responding to a structure fire at 2025 East Carlson Street.
Road closures are in place - Converse Avenue is closed between Dell Range Boulevard and Storey Boulevard.
Please avoid the area while crews work to contain the fire. Updates will be provided as they become available."
The blaze is reportedly burning on on the new apartment complex being built near the Cheyenne Post Office.
