The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says southeast Wyoming residents can expect a windy week ahead, with snow possible.

For this weekend, the agency says there are High Wind Warnings and Watches in the forecast for much of southeast Wyoming, including Cheyenne:

High Wind Warnings have been posted for the wind prone areas of southeast Wyoming tonight through Saturday afternoon. Westerly wind gusts to 65 mph are likely in the warned areas. We get a brief break in the winds late Saturday afternoon and early evening, before they return as a secondary disturbance moves through. This one Saturday night into Sunday looks to be a more widespread wind event, starting in the wind prone areas, but spreading out to cover most of southeast Wyoming. Travel likely impacted for truckers with light loads and those towing camper trailers. Please follow WYDOT's Road Condition Report at https://wyoroad.info/Highway/text_road.html for any advisories or restrictions that may be issued with these strong winds.

And the week ahead includes much of the same:

Here's the five day forecast for southeast Wyoming and Nebraska Panhandle through the middle of the next work week. Primary concern will be strong winds. A High Wind Watch is in effect for Sunday, where a large portion of southeast Wyoming could see westerly wind gusts in excess of 60 mph. Next cold front moves into the area from the north Tuesday, that could bring some travel impacts west of the Laramie Range in snow and breezy winds. Finally Thursday, we are looking at another strong wind event that could impact much of southeast Wyoming. Plan travel carefully the upcoming week and keep an eye on the forecast. Don't want to see you stuck along the road for several hours if roads close. Stay tuned!

Meet the Four-Legged Heroes of the Cheyenne Police Department

They may not be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, but make no bones about it, police dogs play a vital role in the fight against crime.

In many situations, they're the first ones to put their lives on the line to protect their human partners, proving that not all heroes wear capes, some wear fur coats.
