
90 MPH Winds Expected In SE Wyoming, Extreme Fire Danger For Laramie, Cheyenne
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service is warning of 90 mile per hour winds for southeast Wyoming. Some areas, including Laramie and Cheyenne, face an extremely critical fire danger.
The agency posted the following on it's Facebook page
A combination of very strong winds, low humidity and dry grasses will result in extreme fire danger today across southeast Wyoming and critical fire danger across western Nebraska. Be ready to take action should a wildfire start in your area!"

Bevy of Semis Fall Victim to Wyoming Wind
Between December 9 and 12 the Wyoming Highway Patrol posted pictures showing the power of Wyoming wind. During the winter months (November through March), winds commonly reach sustained speeds of 30 to 40 mph, with gusts often soaring to 50 or 60 mph or more. High wind warnings often cover portions of central Wyoming, with peak gusts sometimes reaching 100 mph or higher.
