
UPDATE: Severe Thunderstorm Watch Posted For Several Wyoming Counties
UPDATE: 12:35 P.M.: The National Weather Service has posted s Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 8p.m. for the following counties until 8 p.m.:
CAMPBELL CONVERSE CROOK GOSHEN JOHNSON LARAMIE NIOBRARA PLATTE SHERIDAN WESTON
A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for parts of Montana, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming until 8 PM MDT. The highest risk is located east of I-25. While all severe hazards are possible today, large hail is the primary concern today
Original Post: The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says heavy rain, 60 mile-per-hour wind and golf ball sized hail are possible in southeast Wyoming later today.
The agency has posted a severe thunderstorm watch
Tornadoes are possible, but the agency says that risk is "low to isolated."
The agency posted the following on it's website: "The weather pattern will remain active with scattered thunderstorms by this afternoon. A few of the storms have the potential to become strong to severe. The primary hazards will be lightning, strong gusty winds, and isolated large hail. The tornado risk is low to isolated. The timing for today’s storms will be 1PM-9PM."
