GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) — A snowstorm is causing travel problems in northeast and central Wyoming.

Slick and hazardous driving conditions are common on many roads and highways in the region.

No unnecessary travel had been advised on a 20-mile stretch of Interstate 90 between Gillette and the Johnson County line because of winter conditions, but that advisory has since been rescinded.

The National Weather Service has posted a winter storm warning until 6 p.m. for northeast Wyoming, including Gillette, Sheridan and Buffalo. A winter weather advisory was in effect for central Wyoming, including Casper, Riverton, Worland, Lander and Thermopolis.

The Riverton area had received 2 to 4 inches by Monday morning.

The storm was expected to wind down by Monday evening.
