Detective Robert Mosbacher of the Laramie County Sheriff's Office was recently recognized by U.S. Attorney Mark Klaassen for his outstanding efforts in the investigation and prosecution of Armando Ramirez-Serna.

Ramirez-Serna was sentenced in February to 40 years in prison for the November 2017 shooting death of 19-year-old Justin Robinson.

Prosecutors say Ramirez-Serna killed Robinson while robbing him of less than four ounces of marijuana and just over $200.

Robinson's body was found in a reservoir on the Wyoming Hereford Ranch.  His burnt SUV was found nearby.

Ramirez-Serna pleaded guilty in October 2018 to interference with commerce by robbery and use and discharge of a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence causing death as part of a plea agreement.

In exchange for his plea, two other counts were dismissed at sentencing.
