A pair of teenage runaways who are accused of stealing a pair of pickups as they fled from Longmont, Colorado were taken into custody in Evanston Tuesday, according to a spokesman for the Sweetwater County Sheriff's Department.

Dick Blust says the pair is believed to have originally taken a white 2004 Ford F350 pickup in Longmont, which they drove to central Sweetwater County. Blust says the stolen Ford got stuck on a natural gas line near Point of Rocks, east of Rock Springs. The runaways then allegedly stole a red 1995 Dodge pickup in Point of Rocks. That vehicle was reported stolen and was spotted by police in Evanston, about 125 miles west of Point of Rocks.

Police stopped the vehicle and the pair were taken into custody without incident, according to Blust.
