A one-vehicle accident on Highway 220 in Carbon County sent one man to the hospital on Sunday.

A heavy duty pickup towing a travel trailer was on 220 near mile marker 54 in Carbon County at about 6:15pm, when the passenger-side front tire blew.

There were two men on board as the truck went out of control and rolled twice landing on the driver’s side. The driver was able to climb out of the truck, but the passenger had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

The driver was not injured, but the passenger was taken to the hospital in Casper, and later flown to a facility in Utah with back injuries.

The Highway Patrol says they were both wearing seatbelts.
