A Riverton woman is dead following a rollover accident Friday night.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says 38-year-old Dana Trujillo was killed when the pickup she was riding in rolled on a dirt road six miles west of Riverton shortly after 9:00 p.m.

Trujillo, who was not wearing her seat belt, was thrown from the pickup and sustained fatal injuries on scene.

The driver of the pickup, 21-year-old Shawn Pendleton of Riverton, was not wearing his seat belt and fled the scene on foot.

He was later apprehended by the Fremont County Sheriff's Office at a house south of the crash site and was taken to SageWest Hospital in Riverton.

A second passenger, 28-year-old Elise Pagnoni of Riverton, was wearing her seat belt and suffered minor injuries. She was taken to SageWest Hospital and has been treated and released.

Impaired driving and speed are being investigated as contributing factors in the crash. Charges against Pendleton are pending.
