Where's your favorite place to get ice cream in Cheyenne?
Over the years, there have been some great ice cream shops in Cheyenne, remember Ritz Dairy, the Tastee Freeze or Scotties?

Ritz Dairy Store was located on House Avenue between 19th and 20th Streets just east of downtown Cheyenne. We used to ride our bikes there to get their hand-scooped cones of all flavors and great shakes and malts. The place had an old-fashioned ice cream shoppe atmosphere.

The Tastee Freeze was in the little building out in the parking lot of Ashley Furniture in the Wyoming Plaza on East Lincolnway. My sister Rachel worked there, and I remember the whole family heading all the way out east to watch her make sundaes, shakes and other ice cream treats. Since then, it has been used by DJ Hearth & Home and Patio Splash and now sells antiques.

Do you remember the chocolate-vanilla twist cones from Scottie's? The restaurant on East Lincolnway that is now Little Philly used to be called Scottie's and along with their great hamburgers and crinkle-cut fries, they made their trademark twist cones. We'd pile into the car to cruise through the drive-thru when my other sister Cindy worked there. I remember critiquing how straight the ice cream was on the cone, just like an ornery little brother is supposed to.
