Southeast Wyoming Pony Express riders will deliver letters to veterans at the Cheyenne VA this Saturday as part of their annual Ride for the Heroes.

Ride organizer Tony Goulant says the letters were written by Wyoming elementary school students.

"Ride for the Heroes is an important opportunity for our youth and the National Pony Express Association to share in honoring our heroes," he said.  "We will be bringing many letters to veterans at the VA to show our gratitude for their service."

Even though the Pony Express didn't come through Cheyenne, Goulart says "it's an honor and a privilege to deliver mail to American heroes every year, right before we celebrate our nation's independence."

Saturday's event will take place at 10:30 a.m. at the VA's Circle of Flags.  The public is welcome to attend.
