So what is the biggest traffic problem in Cheyenne?

Mayor Collins: We Get A Lot Of Speeding Complaints

Cheyenne Mayor Patrick Collins, in his "Mayoral Minute" column on Friday, offered a comment on speeders:

''One of the biggest complaints our city council members and I hear about is speeding in our neighborhoods. Chief Francisco, Captain Kessler, and Lt. Hickerson presented new technology that would give us real-time data on vehicle speeds and congestion on our city roadways. It could help with our planning and engineering efforts, but I am most excited by the data as a tool to help our police department focus on areas we know have dangerous speeding. City Council made making our roads safer a goal for this year and I am hoping technology will make that goal more achievable.''

People running red lights seem to be a problem too. Just this week, police say they think someone running a red light caused a collision that in turn damaged a downtown building. No one was killed in that accident, but there is no doubt that red-light runners pose a serious safety hazard.

Drunk driving remains a problem in Wyoming. Forbes Magazine recently ranked Wyoming the fourth-worst state in the country for drunk drivers. Disturbingly, that's actually an improvement over some surveys in recent years that say Wyoming is either the worst or second worst states for DUIs, depending on which survey you believe.

A lot of residents complain on social media about the number of cars they see with expired tags. While a tag by itself isn't going to injure anyone, it does raise questions about the responsibility of the car owner. For example, if they don't keep their registration current, are they up to date on their insurance?

Then there are folks who make sudden turns without warning. There is a reason why your car has a turn signal.

Out of state drivers can be a hazard, especially in the summertime. We are especially thinking of a certain nearby state with green license plates, although they certainly are not the only ones.

So what do you think the worst driving hazard is in Cheyenne? Take our poll and give us your opinion!
