Planters NUTmobile Shells Out Time For Cheyenne, Laramie Visit
If you notice a giant yellowish peanut driving around Cheyenne, you don't need to wake up from a weird dream.
And no, you aren't hallucinating, and nobody slipped anything into your coffee. It's just the official Planters NUTmobile making it's way through Wyoming as it travels across the country.
They also traveled through Laramie as they journeyed down Interstate 80.
NUTmobile drivers Ryan Connors and Katie Krupinski dropped by the KGAB studio on Wednesday morning to talk about their travels.
You can hear the full interview in the audio file below.
What Do NUTmobile Drivers Do?
The pair travel around the country for a year at a time "shelling out smiles. It's a nutty time for sure" Connors says.
Krupinski says they work different events, all throughout the United States. ''We basically are in a different city every 2-7 days. ''We like to partner up with a lot of local businesses, and we also work fairs and festivals..whatever events we can find, we'll work those in a different part of the U.S.''
So how does someone earn the honor of driving people nuts across the country? First of all, you have to be a college graduate. Krupinski, for example, says she has a degree in Public Relations. Drivers sign year-long contracts to travel across the country and they also promote Planters products on social media and in local news interviews.
Needless to say, driving around in a giant peanut does tend to get a lot attention with people pointing, laughing and honking. ''Every honk is a good honk," Conners says. "Sometimes you forget you are driving the NUTmobile and you wonder why people are pointing at you." He goes on to say "We love to see the smiles on people's faces. It's a joy. It's a lot of fun."

Krupinski says the vehicle under the shell is a 2017 Isuzu box truck.
