Sparky was the big winner at the 4th Annual Hair of the Dog Beard and Mustache Competition this weekend at the Cheyenne Depot. The retired firefighter defended his title, claiming "Best in Show" for the second consecutive year.

Dozens of bearded contestants vied for bragging rights at the event, sponsored by the Frontier Facial Hair Club. Prizes were also awarded for the best mustache, the best short beard, the best long beard, and several other categories.

"We appreciate all the support from our community and friends," Frontier Facial Hair Club President Jon Puls posted on Facebook. The fundraiser benefitted several local charities, including Dogs and Tags of Wyoming, which helps train service dogs for veterans suffering from PTSD.

The Frontier Facial Hair Club was founded in 2016 to "spread the joy of facial hair to others in and around the community."
