Motorist Sought In Connection With I-25 Altercation, Death Threat

The Weld County Sheriff's Office is looking for information on a motorist who confronted another motorist in the middle of Interstate 25 near Mead, Colorado on Saturday, June 26.

According to a post on the Weld County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, the incident happened around 9:30 p.m. when a man traveling northbound in a silver Acura TL kept swerving in and out of lanes, preventing other cars from passing him.

Somewhere near Colorado Highway 66 and I-25, the man stopped in the center lane of the highway and confronted a motorist who was driving behind him. A video dashcam in the victim's car captured the confrontation [attached video].

The victim later told Mead Police that the other driver said "someone's going to die today" as he got out of his car. During the confrontation, the driver of the Acura acted like he was going to punch the other man, but did not do so.

According to the post:

''The suspect then got back into his car, shifted into reverse – almost hitting the victim’s car, which was occupied by a friend and a group of children – stepped out again to talk some more and then sped off.

The suspect is described as black man, about 40 years old, bald, weighing about 200 pounds and standing about 5 feet, 10 inches tall. Anyone who recognizes the man in the photos and the video is asked to call Deputy Kyle Keiser at (970) 400-4588."
