A 49 year old Dayton man was killed Sunday when his motorcycle went out of control on US Highway 14 5 miles west of Dayton.

Wyoming Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Steve Townsend says David C. Plymell lost control of his 2013 Kawasaki KLR650 as he was trying to negotiate a curve in the roadway. Townsend says Plymell crossed into the oncoming lane as the motorcycle went down on it's side, ejecting him.

Townsend says 46 year old William Spooner of Missoula, Montana, driving a 2012 Ford F250 pickup, braked and tried to steer away, but was unable to avoid running over Plymell, who was declared dead at the scene.

The accident occurred shortly before 3pm Sunday. Townsend says excessive speed by Plymell as well as his inexperience riding a motorcycle are being investigated as possible factors in the crash.
