Man Kills Himself After Police Chase in Cheyenne
A 27-year-old Cheyenne man is dead following a high-speed chase yesterday (Saturday) morning.
Cheyenne Police Department spokesman Officer Dan Long says an officer observed Kreshon Slack driving recklessly near N. College Drive and E. Lincolnway around 4 a.m.
When the officer tried to pull Slack over, he took off, leading police south on College Drive, north on South Greeley Highway and east on Interstate 80.
The pursuit, which reached speeds of 80 mph, ended near the Pilot Travel Center when Slack reportedly pulled over and shot himself. Slack was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Slack fired multiple shots at police during the pursuit, but Long says no one was injured.
Long says Slack didn't have any warrants out for his arrest, but alcohol is a suspected factor.
