The Larimer County Sheriff's Office reported an unattended death on Tuesday, Aug. 31 at Lon Hagler Reservoir.

Around 8 o'clock this morning, several 911 calls came into the Sheriff's Office reporting an adult man floating in the water. The man reportedly went into the water to grab a boat that was drifting away from the shore.

According to the press release, before emergency responders arrived at the reservoir, a bystander in another boat tried to pull the man to shore but was unsuccessful.

The man was unresponsive when the bystander tried to pull him to shore, and he remained unresponsive as emergency crews started CPR when they arrived.

Around 8:30 a.m., the man was declared dead.

Crews recovered an unoccupied boat that they've associated with the male. Other than the deceased man, no other people have been known or reported to be missing. The Larimer County Sheriff's Office has not released the identity of the male found in the reservoir. The cause and manner of the death have also not yet been released.
