Man Flies to Colorado to Place $3.46 Million Bet on Super Bowl
A man from Texas known as Mattress Mack flew to Colorado to place a bet on Super Bowl LV this Sunday. Jim McIngvale is a Houston area furniture store owner and placing a multi-million dollar bet on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to win the Super Bowl.
McIngvale flew to Colorado to place the $3.46 million bet in the state because of recently legalized sports betting. McIngvale placed the bet through DraftKings on Wednesday night. McIngvale said that he placed the large bet in favor of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers because of the rarity of back to back championship wins in the NFL.
You might recognize the furniture store owner's name as he made national news in 2017. McIngvale opened his furniture showrooms to Harvey flood victims back in 2017.
The defending champion Kansas City Chiefs are currently favored to beat Tom Brady's Tampa Bay Buccaneers by three points. That means if Tampa loses by 2 or one points, McIngvale still wins his bet.
People can also bet on a variety of fun prop bets including the color of the Gatorade poured on the winning coach, if a touchdown celebration includes throwing the football into the Tampa cannon and whether the coin toss comes up as heads or tails.
