A 55-year-old Fort Collins man is facing several charges following a 13 hour armed standoff with law enforcement officers from several different agencies on Thursday, according to the Larimer County Sheriff's Office.

That's according to a post on the sheriff's office Facebook page.

Standoff Started With Eviction Order Being Served

According to the post, the incident started around 9:20 a.m. on Thursday, August 7 when deputies were serving a court-ordered eviction order at a home in the 2600 Block of Laporte Avenue.

The post says the occupant, Kevin Lee Walker, had been ordered to move out but had not done so. Walker allegedly refused to come outside, so deputies entered the home. Walker pointed a rifle at them, and the deputies took cover and called for backup

According to the post  "The Larimer County All-Hazards Crisis Response Team, Fort Collins SWAT team, crisis negotiators, UAS (drone) operators, UCHealth EMS, Poudre Fire Authority, and officers from Fort Collins Police Services, Colorado State University Police, Johnstown Police, and Timnath Police responded to assist. An emergency alert was sent to the surrounding area advising people to shelter in place while law enforcement worked to safely resolve the situation."

The post says the interagency team kept trying to get Walker to come out through the day and into the evening, but he refused to do so.

But they were finally able to arrest him at 10:15 Thursday evening.

According to the post, he was booked on the following charges:

• First Degree Assault - Threatening Peace Officer with Weapon (class 3 felony)
• Felony Menacing (class 5 felony)
• Failure to Leave Premises (class 2 misdemeanor)
• Obstructing a Peace Officer (class 2 misdemeanor)
