Laramie Police Department Night Out Coming Up On Tuesday
The Laramie Police Department has announced its annual National Night Out Celebration will be held on Tuesday, August 4, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in Undine Park.
Food, Games, Police Vehicles Will Be Featured
That's according to a news release from the Laramie Police Department. According to the release, the event will include food, games, tours of police vehicles, and other family-friendly activities.
“National Night Out gives us a chance to spend time with the people we serve outside of a typical call for service, and it's one of the nights we look forward to most. It is a reminder that the relationships we build here matter just as much as the work we do on a call. We hope to see as many neighbors as possible at Undine Park,” said Seargeant Ethan Greenawalt
The event will be held at the west side of the park near the splash pad.
Similar Events To Be Held Across The Country
The Laramie Night Out is held in conjunction with similar events across the country. In the words of the National Night Out website, "National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances."
The Cheyenne Police Department traditionally holds a similar event in July, and some law enforcement agencies in Texas hold theirs in August. But most law enforcement agencies hold their night out events on the first Tuesday in August.
