Alleged Thief Booked Into Laramie County Jail, Bonds Out Next Day
A 38-year-old Scottsbluff, Nebraska man is facing a felony charge in Laramie County after allegedly committing theft.
According to a booking sheet, on Thursday, Aug. 21, Andrew Wayne Hanzes was brought to the Laramie County Detention Center on a warrant out of Laramie County Circuit Court for felony theft, a crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both.

It's alleged that on March 30, 2024, in Laramie County, Hanzes stole $1,450 worth of property from a female.
Initial Court Appearance
On Friday, Aug. 22, Hanzes was seen in Circuit Court in front of Judge Sean C. Chambers on the charge.
Chambers appointed Hanzes a public defender and asked for the state's bond recommendation.
"The state would ask for $1,000 at 10% in light of this individual's relative lack of history," the state said, referring to Hanzes' failures to appear in 2010 and a drug paraphernalia charge in 2015.
Out on Bond
Chambers adopted the state's recommendation and Hanzes posted the $100 needed to get out of jail.
Hanzes is scheduled to be back in Circuit Court for his preliminary hearing on Friday, Aug. 29, at 9 a.m.
Please remember that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
