UPDATE:

One person is dead following a shooting in southeast Laramie County, the Sheriff's Office says.

According to a department Facebook postthe shooting occurred sometime before 4:22 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, in the 1200 block of County Road 157, about eight miles west of Pine Bluffs.

"One individual was pronounced dead at the scene," the post reads. "The Laramie County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased following all required notifications."

Investigation Ongoing

The Sheriff's Office says the cause of death is currently under investigation, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The Laramie County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a shooting in the 1200 block of County Road 157, about eight miles west of Pine Bluffs.

According to a department Facebook post, the shooter has been located and there is no ongoing risk to the public.

"Please avoid the area at this time," the post reads.
