Laramie County Sheriff’s Office Warns of Phone Scam
The Laramie County Sheriff's Office has received several reports of a phone scam in which someone claiming to be with the agency tells people they have warrants out for their arrest.
Sheriff's spokesman Brandon Warner says the scammer asks the victim to purchase multiple Green Dot or Steam cards and to give them the numbers as bond payment.
"We'll never ask you for bond payment over the phone," said Warner. "All bonds are payable at the Laramie County Courthouse."
