K-9 Teca and her handler Deputy Adam Wright of the Laramie County Sheriff's Office are one of 30 finalists in a nationwide contest -- and they need your help.

The K-9 team is competing for public votes to win a new SUV from Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., a non-profit whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the U.S.

Teca received a vest from the organization earlier this year, and now has a shot to win a new Chevrolet Tahoe with police pursuit package and additional K-9 unit customizations -- a prize worth up to $50,000.

The public can vote for Teca today and every day in October on the organization's contest page, www.vik9s.org/suvgiveaway.
