Monday Is Martin Luther King Day, a day set aside to honor the slain civil rights leader across the United States

In Laramie County, all federal, state, county and Cheyenne City Offices will be closed for the holiday. Banks are mostly closed, although some do allow for online and ATM transactions.

Laramie County School District#1 and Laramie County Community College will be closed. There will be no regular mail deliveries by the U.S. Postal Service.

City of Cheyenne Facility Closures

According to the City of Cheyenne Facebook page, the following closures will also be in effect:

 "All residential trash and recycling pickups will slide forward one day during the week of Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Monday pickups move to Tuesday, Tuesday pickups move to Wednesday, Wednesday pickups move to Thursday, Thursday pickups move to Friday). Containers should be set out by 6 a.m.
🗑️ The Solid Waste Transfer Station (220 N. College Drive) and Happy Jack Landfill will be closed Monday and reopen Tuesday.
🍂 The Compost Fa♻️cility (3714 Windmill Road) and Household Hazardous Waste (220 N. College Drive) will be closed Tuesday and reopen Wednesday, Jan. 21. (The Compost Facility and Household Hazardous Waste are always closed on Mondays).
🚌 Cheyenne Transit Program offices will be closed Jan. 19. Buses will not run.
🌺 The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens Grand Conservatory and the Paul Smith Children’s Village will be closed Monday, Jan. 19, in line with its regular schedule. Patrons should visit www.botanic.org for more information.

However, the city aquatics center, ice and events center and the Airport and Kingham Prairie View Golf Course will all be open.
