Laramie County Coroner’s Inquest Scheduled In Child’s Death

Laramie County Coroner Ron Sargent has announced a coroner's inquest on Feb. 9 into the death of a child who has only been identified by the initials C.L.

A Coroner's inquest is a relatively rare event used to determine the cause and manner of someone's death. It is conducted by the Coroner and District Attorney, with a court reporter and three jurors present.

The verdict reached has no civil or criminal trial significance. The inquest is instead a fact-finding and statistical event.

The Feb. 9 inquest is scheduled for 9 a.m. in the Laramie County Commission boardroom. The inquest will be open to the public.
