Cheyenne South played host to Kelly Walsh on Friday in a match-up between 2 teams looking for that first win of the year. Kelly Walsh asserted themselves in the opening quarter starting with a 6 yard run for a score from Emory Yoosok. That was followed by a timely play by the Trojan defense for a safety and then Esias Spillane had a 3 run for a touchdown so KW put 16 points on the board in the 1st quarter.

The 2nd quarter was equally productive for the trojans with Spillane scoring his 2nd TD of the game and Cameron Burkett taking on a 16-yard run to the end zone so Kelly Walsh took a 30-0 lead into the locker room at halftime.

KW added a 3rd quarter field goal before Cheyenne south got on the board as Alex Soto ripped off a 50 yard run from scrimmage. The 2 point try was good and the bison were down 33-8.

Kelly Walsh answered that touchdown with one of their own as Kole Krauss ran it in from 21 yards out and Korven Kaufman caught a 46-yard touchdown pass. KW gets to 1-2 on the year with a 47-8 win over Cheyenne south. The Trojans will host rock springs this week. South is 0-3 and they’ll be at home to meet Cheyenne East.
