Calling all book lovers! This is not a drill. Cheyenne's Barnes and Noble dropped the most important announcement of the year (in my opinion, anyways.) I am, of course, talking about when the beloved bookstore will reopen its doors in Cheyenne.

Cheyenne Barnes & Noble Will Reopen Before the Holiday Season

If you, like me, have had to drive to Fort Collins to visit Barnes & Noble or Laramie to visit Second Story Books, you've likely been waiting with bated breath for the bookstore to reopen in town.

Well, I have your best news of the day (maybe the year!).

Barnes & Noble will reopen in late October before the holidays arrive. You can celebrate now.

You might recall that the bookstore had initially been anticipated reopening in September of this year. The bookstore posted an update on Facebook indicating they'd return in the summer of this year in a shop inside Frontier Mall, followed by an update anticipating September 28. That day has since been pushed back to this October as the store finishes remodeling, stocking shelves, and training employees.

The official opening date is October 25. Let the hallelujah chorus sing! I've already started my holiday B&N shopping list (most of which is...well..for me. I've got catching up to do!)

Is the New Location of Barnes & Noble Smaller?

Yes, the new Barnes & Noble is smaller than the original Cheyenne location. The new store won't have a cafe, as confirmed by the store on its Facebook page. However, the store will continue to provide guests with a cozy place to find their next read.

Where Will the New Barnes & Noble Be Located?

The new Cheyenne Barnes & Noble is located in the old Natural Grocer's storefront at  5116 Frontier Mall Drive. It's an ironic twist, as Natural Grocer's took over Barne's & Noble's original location on Dell Range.

Why Did Barnes & Noble Move?

Barns & Noble had to move from its longstanding Dell Range location after the landlord opted to redevelop the space and "not renew [their] lease."

The announcement was met with dismay from locals, many of whom wished the bookseller a quick turnaround on finding a new location.

Now, over a year later, Cheyenne residents can look forward to the reopening of the bookstore at its new location. And you can get your holiday book shopping done while you're there!
