Laramie police say they're working with the Albany County Coroner’s Office and forensic anthropologists to identify human remains that were found near the city's Greenbelt.

According to a department Facebook post, officers were called to the area of West Curtis Street on the Greenbelt shortly after 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, after a person walking his dog discovered the remains.

"The area was secured, and a preliminary investigation found skeletal remains which appeared to be human," the post reads.

Police say nothing at the scene provided information helpful in determining a positive identification of the decedent.
