There are many reasons that people choose to come to Wyoming. For me, it was my admiration for the way of the West. Adventures, hunting, fishing, loyalty, and good values were all factors in the decision.

The last couple of years have been rough on our family, with surgeries, eye issues, and cancer battles. SO, it hit me that life is too short, and you don't know how much time you have left.

That's when my wife and I decided it was time to make living life and having fun a priority, even if we only have a couple of days to do it. At least once a month, we go on an adventure. Jobs, bills, health, and other life situations sometimes get in the way of keeping that in our minds.

One of the hardest parts of choosing where to adventure in Wyoming is deciding where to go. There are numerous great towns, sightseeing opportunities, landmarks, and historical locations, making the options endless.

We decided to let fate be the decider, but how?

  • Option A: Put a map of Wyoming on the wall and throw a dart.
  • Option B: Have Google pick.
  • Option C: Put 10 locations into a hat and pick a winner.

We decided to go with Option C because we didn't want to spend too much time on the road. We only have three days to travel, adventure, and get home.

We had two key considerations in mind when evaluating our options.

  1. They had to be within a three-hour drive of Casper.
  2. There had to be rooms available to book before we left.

So, we wrote the 10 locations on 10 strips of paper, put them into a hat, and let fate decide.

The Ten Options:

  • Lander
  • Buffalo
  • Sheridan
  • Gillette
  • Rawlins
  • Saratoga
  • Thermopolis
  • Ten Sleep
  • Story
  • Kaycee

So, our first 'The Adventures of Drew and Dana: Let Fate Decide' trip is to Saratoga, WY. The Carbon County town is one of the places we've adventured in before, but that's ok, we love it.

Thankfully, with the help of technology, I can continue to do the radio show from the road and can take you with us. Thanks for riding along.
