Cowgirl Soccer Falls on Road at Colorado, 2-1
BOULDER, Colo., -- Many teams this season have entered Prentup Field at the University of Colorado and been overwhelmed by the Buffaloes. That didn’t happen to the University of Wyoming soccer team on Sunday.
The Cowgirls went punch for punch with Colorado – which is receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches’ Poll. In the end, the Buffaloes narrowly pushed past the Pokes, 2-1.

The loss drops Wyoming to 2-1-1 on the season. The victory improves Colorado to 5-0-1 on the year.
The Cowgirls held the advantage Sunday for nearly two-thirds of the match. That was due to a combination that has worked numerous times this season.
Alyssa Glover from Jennah Wanner is a tandem that fruited the quickest goal in program history Sunday. It took just 25 seconds for the two to find one another and give Wyoming a 1-0 lead over Colorado.
The advantage held until the 60th minute. Jace Holley leveled the contest with an unassisted score.
Colorado vaulted ahead during the 82nd minute. Reagan Kotschau scored off a pass from Layne Emerson that gave the match its final score.
The Buffaloes led in shots, 19-8, however it was much closer in the shots on goal department, Colorado holding a 7-5 edge. Alisa Bunn and Hadley Linder each had two shots to lead Wyoming.
Cowgirls’ goalkeeper, Haley Bartel, made five saves. Colorado keeper, Jordan Nytes, turned away four shots.
The Pokes remain on the road Thursday. They travel to No. 13 Georgia for a 4:30 p.m. tilt at the Turner Soccer Complex.
