Cowboys Add Shooting Guard From Wazzu Via Transfer Portal
LARAMIE -- Wyoming has agreed to terms with its first Division-I transfer.
Parker Gerrits announced Monday on social media he is Laramie bound after spending three seasons at Washington State. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound guard has two years of eligibility remaining.
"Excited to get to work," Gerrits penned on X.

The Olympia, Wash., product appeared in 31 games last fall, averaging 1.8 points per contest while playing nearly 10 minutes a night. He shot better than 40% from the floor and connected on 15-of-40 from beyond the arc.
Gerrits joins a guard corps that includes returners Naz Meyer and Khaden Bennett. That duo combined for nearly 24 points and 10 rebounds per game last winter. Back-up point guard Uriyah Rojas will also be back for his senior campaign. He netted 6.2 a night while averaging 16.5 minutes of court time.
Sundance Wicks and Co. also re-signed forward Gavin Gores.
Guards Damarion Dennis, Jared Harris and Adam Harakow all entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. So did big men Simm-Marten Saadi and Abou Magassa.
"We return 50% of our production, so now the emphasis is on finding "F.I.T.S.," Wicks said last week in a statement. "(That means) Recruiting players who have high feel, intelligence, toughness and skill to complement a core of Cowboys who are committed to competing for a championship.
"We are going to be very intentional about finding (Our kind of Cowboys) who can build upon the character and culture that the 2025-26 Cowboys established."

Gerrits reached double figures one time in 2026, dropping 11 on 4-of-5 shooting in a 104-74 victory over visiting Portland State. He drilled a trio of threes in the rout. He also netted seven in a lopsided road setback at Davidson.
A 4A All-State performer at Olympia High School, Gerrits saw action in 32 contests during his redshirt freshman season. In a loss at No. 18 Gonzaga, he scored a then career-high seven points while hitting 3-of-4 shots.
Gerrits is the second transfer to join the program this offseason, joining Michael Mora, who spent the previous two seasons at Cal State Monterrey after a one-year stint at Vermont. Last year, the 6-foot-6 forward from Palo Alto, Calif., averaged 17.2 points an outing, which tied for the league lead. He played for current Wyoming assistant Nick Whitmore at Asheville School in North Carolina.
Wyoming won 18 games last season, the best output since punching its ticket to the First Four of the NCAA Tournament in 2022. Wicks' squad was ousted in the opening round of the National Invitational Tournament by Wichita State.
The Mountain West will look much different this fall with the departures of San Diego State, Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State and defending conference champion Utah State. Those five are headed to the reimagined Pac-12. The league will now welcome Hawaii as a full-time member. Grand Canyon was inserted a year ahead of schedule and finished fourth overall with 20 wins.
UNLV, Air Force, New Mexico, Nevada and San Jose State also remain.
