Cowboys Battle College of Charleston at Myrtle Beach Invitational

CONWAY, S.C., – The Wyoming Cowboys battle the College of Charleston Cougars on Friday at 12:30 p.m. MT in the Myrtle Beach Invitational in Conway, S.C. inside the HTC Center.
It is the first meeting since 2002 when the teams met at the Great Alaska Shootout. The Cougars are led by Pat Kelsey, who played one season for the Cowboys in 1993-94.
Fans can listen to the contest, as well as follow stats on GoWyo.com. The game will be televised on ESPNU and will be broadcast live on radio over the 26 affiliate stations of the Cowboy Sports Network, as Keith Kelley on the call and Kevin McKinney commenting.
About The Teams
Wyoming heads into the game with a 2-1 overall record after falling to Saint Louis by a score of 79-69 in the tournament opener. Wyoming recorded 22 offensive rebounds in the game for the most since having 26 against Middle Tennessee State on Jan. 18, 2004. Wyoming is averaging 40.7 rebounds per game and are +10.7 on the glass this season. Wyoming is shooting 48.6 percent from the field and opponents are shooting 40.65 percent. Wyoming adds 7.7 triples per game but were held to only three on Thursday.

College of Charleston is 1-2 on the young season with a win over Iona and losses to Duquesne and Vermont. The Cougars are shooting 39.7 percent from the field and 18.8 percent from behind the arc. An excellent rebounding team, the Cougars record 40 per game. Opponents are shooting 42.8 percent from the field and 32.9 percent from behind the arc.

Wyoming is led in scoring this season by Sam Griffin at 17.3 points per game. He also has 11 helpers on the season and is shooting 50 percent from the field. Akuel Kot adds 15.7 points per game and leads the team with four assists per night. Forward Cam Manyawu is averaging a double-double with 15.7 points per game and 10.7 rebounds per night. He is shooting 72 percent from the field on the season.
The Cougars are led in scoring by Ante Brzovic at 13.7 points per game. He also leads the team grabbing 6.7 rebounds per game. Ben Burnham adds 12 points per game and 4.7 rebounds.

The Cowboys are 1-1 all-time against the Cougars. The last meeting came on Nov. 27, 2002 at the Great Alaska Shootout with the Cougars winning 81-72. Wyoming took the meeting in Laramie in 1991 by a score of 84-59.
