Chris Bartholomew, the district's head nurse, says that immunizations are required by state law and notification of this requirement begins as early as February.

Laramie County School District 1 is reminding all parents, guardians and students that the deadline for their student to receive their immunizations, is Thursday, Sept. 24.

It is required by law, that all students in the district receive their immunization shots no later than the Sept 24 deadline. Notification of this requirement begins as early as February of any given year.

Failure to comply with the law, will result in students being suspended from school by Friday, Sept. 25.

The school will call the parent or guardian to pick up their child at their school and will need to take their child to be immunized. Health care providers in the Cheyenne area are ready to administer the proper vaccine, as well as the Cheyenne-Laramie County Health Department.

Please contact your child's school for more information.
