Horse Pasture Becomes a Growing Business in Northern Wyoming
SHERIDAN, Wyo. (AP) — A new business is a source of fresh-grown greens for northern Wyoming.
Fred and Karen Schubert recently offered up their horse pasture on the outskirts of Sheridan for growing small crops. Brian Berglund took advantage of the opportunity and started a business called Western Variety Farm.

The Sheridan Press reports Berglund grows lettuce, kale, carrots, tomatoes and other produce on the 6,000-square-foot plot. Berglund is a Connecticut native with a background in agriculture and farming, including work at a farm at Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts.
He originally moved west to work on a ranch in Montana but moved to Sheridan in March.
