Construction work begins Monday, August 6th on the Holliday Park Greenway Connector Project at the intersection of East Lincolnway and Dunn Avenue in Cheyenne. According to Cheyenne City Trails Planner Jeff Wiggins, the connector will represent a big step forward for the city's Greenway program. Wiggins says that's because it will be the first time Holliday Park--which Wiggins calls the second most important city park, after Lion's Park--will be linked  with the Greenway trail system. Wiggins says all businesses in the area will remain open while the construction work is completed.

During the first phase of the construction, Dunn Avenue between East Lincolnway and Nationway will be closed as well as the right-hand turn lane from eastbound East Lincolnway onto Nationway. At some point during the construction, travel on Lincolnway will be restricted to one lane in each direction. Work on the project is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2013. The $1.4 Million project is being paid for with a federal highway grant as well as sixth-penny sales tax revenues and city safety improvement funds
