As camping season approaches, there are some great places for you and your family to pup a tent in and around Cheyenne, Wyoming. Where will you spend the summer?

Wyoming is a wonderful place to enjoy the great outdoors. Here are some close camping spots that you may enjoy and it won't take a lot of time to get there.

  • Pole Mountain - On 210 just off Happy Jack Rd. This is just past the Lincoln Monument so you can take a rest and enjoy the view on the way to the camp site.
  • Vedauwoo - All of about 35 minutes away from Cheyenne. You can hike, bird watch, camp, and hit the bike trails. A great, local place to hang your hat and fry up some bacon for a spell.
  • Curt Gowdy State Park - Don't forget your raft and fishing pole when you go here. Lots of water and camping sites available for you. Much fun for a short week or weekend.

See, there are some wonderful camp sites around here. The Colorado folks think so too. So don't be surprised if you see green and red plates pull up to camp along side of you. Have fun this summer.
