Gillette Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash

A 27-year-old Gillette man was killed last Monday in a motorcycle crash in southeast Gillette.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 7:15 p.m. on S. Garner Lake Road.

The Patrol says Walter Blake was riding north when he rear-ended a broken down semi with a belly dump trailer that was partially blocking the far right northbound lane.

Witnesses say Blake, who was not wearing a helmet, didn't appear to slow down before hitting the trailer.​

The Patrol says driver inattention and driver impairment are being investigated as contributing factors.
