Wyoming Adjutant General Luke Reiner has been named the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce 2016 "Person of the Year."

Reiner was honored with the award at the chamber's 2017 Annual Banquet and Bash Award, presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming. Major General Reiner is the 53rd person to win the award.

As Adjutant General, he directs the Wyoming Military Department, which is located in Cheyenne. He is in charge of plans, policies, and programs for the over 3,000 Army and Air National Guard members in the state.

General Reiner is also responsible for the Wyoming Veterans' Affairs Commission and the Oregon Trail State Veterans' Cemetery in Natrona County.

General Reiner began his career as an enlisted soldier with the Nebraska Army National Guard in 1982
