First Lady Melania Trump to Visit Wyoming This Week
The First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, will travel to Wyoming this week to visit national parks and promote her child success initiative.
Thursday's visit will focus on well-being, which is one of three pillars of the First Lady's BE BEST initiative. The initiative champions "the many successful well-being programs that provide children with the tools and skills required for emotional, social and physical health," according to the White House.
Also Thursday, Trump will encourage fourth-graders to get a park pass from NPS.gov so that they may spend time outdoors and appreciate the nation's natural beauty.
Last month, Trump, the National Park Service and fourth-grade students from a Washington, D.C. school participated in a ceremonial grand reopening of the Washington Monument. The First Lady helped distribute "Every Kid Outdoors" passes, a park service program that allows students free access to hundreds of national parks.
"In her time as First Lady, Mrs. Trump has been a strong proponent of preserving national treasures so that people may enjoy and appreciate their historic value to the nation for generations to come," the White House announced Tuesday. "In addition to speaking with children about the value of getting out in nature and our national parks, this trip will highlight a few historic natural landmarks."
