The Cheyenne City Council Finance Committee on Monday voted unanimously in favor of a $300,000 grant from the Federal Aviation Administration to create a sustainable management plan for Cheyenne Regional Airport.

Airport manager Dave Haring told the committee the plan would include the reduction of environmental impacts and the maintaining of high and stable levels of economic growth. Haring says the third area to be covered by such a plan is ''social progress". Haring says he understands that to mean the airport operating in harmony with city and county government to achieve it's goals.

Haring says the total cost of creating such a plan would be about $320, 000. He says in addition to the federal money, about $12,000 of that cost could be funded through a WYDOT program with the  airport responsible for the balance of about $8000.
