Fall Back, Change Your Batteries
Cheyenne Fire and Rescue is encouraging people to change the batteries in their smoke alarms when setting their clocks back for Daylight Saving Time tonight.
Prevention Bureau Chief Byron Mathews says roughly two-thirds of home fire deaths occur in homes with no smoke alarms or non-working smoke alarms.
"The fire department recommends (you) have a smoke alarm inside of each sleeping room, directly adjacent or outside of each sleeping room and one on every level," said Mathews. "A carbon monoxide alarm should be on every level as well."
Daylight Saving Time officially occurs at 2 a.m. tomorrow (Sunday), adjusting to 1 a.m.
