Downtown Cheyenne Two Car Crash Leads To Building Being Hit
Cheyenne Police say a two car collision in the area of East 17th Street and Central Avenue on Tuesday evening caused a car to hit and damage a building in the area.
Police Think A Driver Running A Light Caused The Crash
According to CPD spokeswoman Alex Farkas, police were called to the intersection of East 17th and Central Avenue around 7 p.m. on Tuesday on a report of a two-vehicle crash, Farkas says the investigation of the crash scene seems to show that the driver of a Kia Sorento was traveling south on Central and ran a red light at East 17th Street. The Sorento continued into the intersection and ran into a Chrysler 300 that was headed east on 17th Street.

Farkas says investigators believe the impact of the crash caused the Kia to swerve into a nearby building, causing significant damage. The driver of the Kia, a 62-year-old woman who was not identified in the release, was taken by ambulance to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, where she was treated and later released.
The driver of the Kia was ticketed for running a red light, while the driver of the Chrysler was given a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt..
Farkas says the incident is still under investigation.
